| CVE-2026-57825 | 1 Ocaml | 1 Opam | 2026-09-11 | 5.7 Medium |
| In the opam package before 2.5.2 for OCaml, the sandbox protection mechanism can be bypassed because symlinks are mishandled during use of .install files. | ||||
| CVE-2026-79939 | 1 Dell | 2 Cyber Recovery, Powerprotect Cyber Recovery | 2026-09-01 | 5.8 Medium |
| Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery, versions Prior to 20.3, contain an UNIX Symbolic Link (Symlink) Following vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Script injection. | ||||
| CVE-2026-75038 | 1 Ilya-zlobintsev | 1 Lact | 2026-08-28 | 6.1 Medium |
| UNIX symbolic link (symlink) following vulnerability in ilya-zlobintsev/LACT allows for local denial-of-service. This issue affects LACT: through 0.10.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-55168 | 1 Runtipi | 1 Runtipi | 2026-08-25 | 6.5 Medium |
| Runtipi is a personal homeserver orchestrator. In 4.10.0 and earlier, Runtipi accepts symbolic links from an attacker-controlled backup archive and copies them into live application paths during the backup restore flow. An authenticated attacker can plant user-config/app.env as a symlink to an arbitrary reachable path and then send PUT /api/user-config/demoapp3:_user with attacker-controlled appEnv content. FilesystemService.writeTextFile() follows the planted link, allowing content to be written outside the intended restore and user-config directory boundary with Runtipi process permissions. This issue is fixed in version 4.10.1. | ||||
| CVE-2026-32657 | 1 Dell | 9 Appsync, Emc Metro Node, Powerflex Appliance Intelligent Catalog and 6 more | 2026-08-21 | 7.3 High |

A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of privileges. | ||||
| CVE-2026-63125 | 1 Lxc | 1 Incus | 2026-08-21 | 9.9 Critical |
| Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.3.0, an unprivileged, project-confined Incus user (a non-admin TLS/RBAC identity with `can_create_images` and `can_create_instances`) can execute arbitrary code as root on the host. A crafted image ships `backup.yaml` as a symlink to a host file. When the root daemon writes the instance's backup file, it follows the symlink. Version 7.3.0 patches the issue. | ||||
| CVE-2026-48752 | 1 Lxc | 1 Incus | 2026-08-21 | 9.9 Critical |
| Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, a specially crafted image or instance backup can be used to read or create/write arbitrary files on the host; possibly leading to arbitrary command execution. Version 7.2.0 patches the issue. | ||||
| CVE-2026-48749 | 1 Lxc | 1 Incus | 2026-08-21 | 9.9 Critical |
| Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, a specially crafted image can be used to read or create/write arbitrary files on the host; possibly leading to arbitrary command execution. Version 7.2.0 fixes the issue. | ||||
| CVE-2026-48750 | 1 Lxc | 1 Incus | 2026-08-21 | 9.9 Critical |
| Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, the `record-output` parameter of the `/instances/$name/exec` endpoint stores the output of the command in the `exec-output` directory of the instance. If `exec-output` is a symlink, file named `exec_UUID.stdout` and `exec_UUID.stderr` can be written to an arbitrary location where the `.stdout` file will contain arbitrary content. This behavior can be abused for arbitrary command execution. Version 7.2.0 contains a patch. | ||||
| CVE-2026-64846 | 1 Nixos | 1 Nix | 2026-08-20 | 2.8 Low |
| Nix is a package manager for Linux and other Unix systems. Prior to 2.35.0, a malicious derivation executed with the recursive-nix experimental feature can exploit a time-of-check/time-of-use race involving final symlink handling in the LocalStore restore path. The race can cause writeFile to follow a substituted final symlink when opening a path with O_TRUNC instead of enforcing FinalSymlink::DontFollow, allowing the Nix process or nix-daemon to create or truncate an empty file outside the build sandbox with the daemon user's permissions. The primitive does not provide arbitrary-content writes and requires winning the race. This issue is fixed in version 2.35.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-56748 | 1 Cribl | 1 Cribl Stream | 2026-08-20 | 8.8 High |
| Improper validation of symbolic links in the Pack Git import feature in Cribl Stream before 4.18.2 allows a remote authenticated attacker with Pack import and pipeline preview permissions to execute arbitrary code as the Cribl server process via a crafted Git repository containing a symbolic link in the pack's functions directory. | ||||
| CVE-2026-47766 | 1 Containers | 1 Crun | 2026-08-14 | N/A |
| crun is an open source OCI Container Runtime fully written in C. Prior to version 1.28, crun's default device setup opens the container rootfs `/dev` directory without `O_NOFOLLOW`. If an OCI bundle contains `rootfs/dev` as a symlink and the bundle configuration does not mount `/dev`, crun follows that symlink and creates the default device nodes and stdio symlinks at the symlink target outside the container rootfs. In a local rootful crun replay, this created fixed device nodes and symlinks outside the rootfs before crun returned failure. A pre-existing file named `ptmx` in the target directory was also replaced by crun's forced `ptmx -> pts/ptmx` symlink. Version 1.28 fixes the issue. | ||||
| CVE-2026-53802 | 2 Rsync Project, Samba | 2 Rsync, Rsync | 2026-08-14 | 7.1 High |
| rsync before 3.5.0 contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability that allows attackers to read files accessible to the rsync daemon process by exploiting symlink following in input configuration file handling including --files-from, --password-file, and filter merge files. Attackers can place a symlink at a predictable --files-from or --password-file path, or supply a --files-from path that escapes the daemon module root, to read arbitrary files accessible to the rsync process. | ||||
| CVE-2026-13201 | 2 Kubevirt, Redhat | 3 Kubevirt, Container Native Virtualization, Openshift Virtualization | 2026-08-11 | 7.3 High |
| A flaw was found in KubeVirt's safepath package used by virt-handler. The OpenAtNoFollow function uses O_PATH|O_NOFOLLOW to obtain a file descriptor to a path leaf, but downstream operations resolve the path via /proc/self/fd/N using link-following syscalls. When the leaf is a symlink, the kernel dereferences it, defeating the intended no-follow protection. An attacker with access to a virt-launcher pod can exploit this to redirect virt-handler's IPC socket connections, including the notify socket used for VM domain lifecycle events. By hijacking this socket, the attacker can inject arbitrary domain events into virt-handler, causing it to take incorrect lifecycle actions, corrupt VM state in the Kubernetes API, or crash — resulting in sustained denial of VM management services for all virtual machines on the affected node. Additionally, the same symlink following flaw allows virt-handler to apply file ownership or permission changes to unintended host paths. | ||||
| CVE-2026-62992 | 1 Smarty-php | 1 Smarty | 2026-08-07 | N/A |
| Smarty is a template engine for PHP, facilitating the separation of presentation (HTML/CSS) from application logic. Prior to 5.8.2 (and 4.5.7 on the 4.x line), Security::_checkDir() does not fully resolve symbolic links before validating that a requested path lies within a configured secure directory. An attacker able to place or reference a symlink within a directory Smarty treats as trusted (e.g., a template or config directory) could use it to point outside the intended secure directory, bypassing the containment check and reading arbitrary files accessible to the PHP process. This issue is fixed in versions 5.8.2 and 4.5.7. | ||||
| CVE-2026-47763 | 1 Pdm-project | 1 Pdm | 2026-08-05 | N/A |
| pdm is a Python package and dependency manager supporting the latest PEP standards. In versions prior to 2.27.0, pdm writes several project-local state or configuration files without symlink protection. If a malicious repository places those files as symlinks, local PDM operations can overwrite the symlink targets. This creates an arbitrary file clobber primitive relative to the privileges of the invoking user. Config.__init__() resolves the project-local pdm.toml path and _save_config() writes to the resolved target. If PROJECT_ROOT/pdm.toml is a symlink to another file, pdm config -l ... updates the target file instead of refusing the write. The same general problem exists for other project-local persistence paths that are written directly with no lstat / O_NOFOLLOW protection. For the pdm.toml PoC specifically, the target file must already contain parseable TOML. Otherwise the load step fails before the write path is reached. That parser constraint does not apply to the .pdm-python or .python-version sinks. This issue has been fixed in version 2.27.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-54574 | 1 Termux | 1 Proot-distro | 2026-07-30 | 8.2 High |
| proot-distro is a utility for managing proot containers. Prior to version 5.1.5, proot-distro install extracted plain tarball root filesystems through _extract_plain_tar() in proot_distro/commands/install.py and Docker layers through _apply_layer() in proot_distro/helpers/docker.py without validating archive-controlled symlink targets in member.linkname, allowing a malicious archive to plant an absolute host-path symlink and write files through it onto the host filesystem. This issue is fixed in version 5.1.5. | ||||
| CVE-2026-41937 | 2 Givanz, Vvveb | 2 Vvveb, Vvveb | 2026-07-28 | 7.2 High |
| Vvveb before 1.0.8.3 contains an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the plugin upload endpoint that allows super_admin users to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a malicious plugin ZIP file. Attackers can craft a ZIP containing a plugin.php with a valid Slug header and a public/index.php file with arbitrary PHP code, which executes as the web server user once accessed via subsequent unauthenticated HTTP requests to the plugin's public path. | ||||
| CVE-2026-17459 | 1 Perwendel | 1 Spark | 2026-07-27 | 4.3 Medium |
| A vulnerability was determined in perwendel spark up to 2.9.4. This vulnerability affects the function staticFiles.externalLocation of the file src/main/java/spark/resource/ExternalResourceHandler.jav of the component SparkJava. Executing a manipulation can lead to symlink following. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. | ||||
| CVE-2026-65010 | 1 Huggingface | 1 Datasets | 2026-07-27 | 6.6 Medium |
| Datasets through 5.00, fixed in commit ad2d853, contains a symlink-following vulnerability in Extractor.extract() that allows local attackers to write arbitrary files by pre-planting symlinks at predictable output paths. Attackers can redirect archive extraction to arbitrary filesystem locations in shared-cache environments, enabling overwrite of sensitive files and potential privilege escalation or code execution. | ||||
