| An out-of-bounds read flaw related to the assess_packet function in eapmd5pass.c:211 was found in the way eapmd5pass 1.4 handled processing of network packets. A remote attacker could potentially use this flaw to crash the eapmd5pass process under certain circumstances by generating specially crafted network traffic. | ||||
| CVE-2017-11662 | 1 Mindwerks | 1 Wildmidi | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| The _WM_ParseNewMidi function in f_midi.c in WildMIDI 0.4.2 can cause a denial of service (invalid memory read and application crash) via a crafted mid file. | ||||
| CVE-2017-11661 | 1 Mindwerks | 1 Wildmidi | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| The _WM_SetupMidiEvent function in internal_midi.c:2318 in WildMIDI 0.4.2 can cause a denial of service (invalid memory read and application crash) via a crafted mid file. | ||||
| CVE-2017-11608 | 1 Libsass | 1 Libsass | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| There is a heap-based buffer over-read in the Sass::Prelexer::re_linebreak function in lexer.cpp in LibSass 3.4.5. A crafted input will lead to a remote denial of service attack. | ||||
| CVE-2017-11572 | 1 Fontforge | 1 Fontforge | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| FontForge 20161012 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in readcfftopdicts (parsettf.c) resulting in DoS or code execution via a crafted otf file. | ||||
| CVE-2017-11541 | 2 Redhat, Tcpdump | 2 Enterprise Linux, Tcpdump | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| tcpdump 4.9.0 has a heap-based buffer over-read in the lldp_print function in print-lldp.c, related to util-print.c. | ||||
| CVE-2017-14818 | 1 Foxitsoftware | 1 Foxit Reader | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive on vulnerable installations of Foxit Reader 8.3.1.21155. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of JPEG2000 images embedded in PDF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated object. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-4982. | ||||
| CVE-2017-14820 | 1 Foxitsoftware | 1 Foxit Reader | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on vulnerable installations of Foxit Reader 8.3.1.21155. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the tile index of the SOT marker in JPEG2000 images. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated object. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-5012. | ||||
| CVE-2017-1000254 | 2 Haxx, Redhat | 3 Libcurl, Jboss Core Services, Rhel Software Collections | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| libcurl may read outside of a heap allocated buffer when doing FTP. When libcurl connects to an FTP server and successfully logs in (anonymous or not), it asks the server for the current directory with the `PWD` command. The server then responds with a 257 response containing the path, inside double quotes. The returned path name is then kept by libcurl for subsequent uses. Due to a flaw in the string parser for this directory name, a directory name passed like this but without a closing double quote would lead to libcurl not adding a trailing NUL byte to the buffer holding the name. When libcurl would then later access the string, it could read beyond the allocated heap buffer and crash or wrongly access data beyond the buffer, thinking it was part of the path. A malicious server could abuse this fact and effectively prevent libcurl-based clients to work with it - the PWD command is always issued on new FTP connections and the mistake has a high chance of causing a segfault. The simple fact that this has issue remained undiscovered for this long could suggest that malformed PWD responses are rare in benign servers. We are not aware of any exploit of this flaw. This bug was introduced in commit [415d2e7cb7](https://github.com/curl/curl/commit/415d2e7cb7), March 2005. In libcurl version 7.56.0, the parser always zero terminates the string but also rejects it if not terminated properly with a final double quote. | ||||
