| CVE-2026-84837 | 1 Redhat | 3 Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images, Hummingbird | 2026-09-03 | 7.8 High |
| A flaw was found in rpm. An attacker can exploit a command injection vulnerability by influencing the path or filename of a tarball processed by `rpmbuild -t*` to include shell metacharacters. This is particularly relevant in automated build or continuous integration (CI) workflows that ingest externally supplied artifact names. Successful exploitation allows for arbitrary command execution with the privileges of the build user, which could lead to information disclosure or disruption of the build environment. | ||||
| CVE-2026-84838 | 1 Redhat | 3 Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images, Hummingbird | 2026-09-03 | 7.8 High |
| A flaw was found in rpmuncompress. This command injection vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands. This occurs when rpmuncompress processes a specially crafted archive filename containing shell metacharacters, which are not properly escaped before being passed to shell command strings. Successful exploitation requires user interaction, where a user or automated workflow invokes rpmuncompress on the malicious file, leading to high impact on the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data accessible to the invoking user. | ||||
| CVE-2026-48864 | 2 Opensuse, Redhat | 21 Libsolv, Discovery, Enterprise Linux and 18 more | 2026-09-03 | 7.8 High |
| A flaw was found in libsolv. This heap buffer overflow occurs during the decompression of attacker-controlled compressed data within `.solv` files due to insufficient input validation. An attacker can provide a specially crafted `.solv` file, which, when processed by a vulnerable application, can lead to out-of-bounds memory access. This could result in information disclosure, alteration of program execution, or a denial of service. | ||||
| CVE-2026-42013 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 15 Gnutls, Discovery, Enterprise Linux and 12 more | 2026-09-03 | 8.2 High |
| A flaw was found in gnutls. When validating certificates, an oversized Subject Alternative Name (SAN) could cause the validation process to incorrectly fall back to checking the Common Name (CN) field. This could allow a remote attacker to bypass proper certificate validation, potentially leading to spoofing or man-in-the-middle attacks. | ||||
| CVE-2026-42011 | 1 Redhat | 14 Discovery, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Eus and 11 more | 2026-09-03 | 7.4 High |
| A flaw was found in gnutls. This vulnerability occurs because permitted name constraints were incorrectly ignored when previous Certificate Authorities (CAs) only had excluded name constraints. A remote attacker could exploit this to bypass critical name constraint checks during certificate validation. This bypass could lead to the acceptance of invalid certificates, potentially enabling spoofing or man-in-the-middle attacks against affected systems. | ||||
| CVE-2026-5260 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 14 Gnutls, Discovery, Enterprise Linux and 11 more | 2026-09-03 | 8.2 High |
| A flaw was found in libgnutls. A remote attacker, by sending an extremely short premaster secret during an RSA key exchange to a server using an RSA key backed by a PKCS#11 token, could trigger a short heap overread. This memory corruption vulnerability could lead to information disclosure. | ||||
| CVE-2026-3833 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 15 Gnutls, Discovery, Enterprise Linux and 12 more | 2026-09-03 | 6.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in gnutls. This vulnerability occurs because gnutls performs case-sensitive comparisons of `nameConstraints` labels, specifically for `dNSName` (DNS) or `rfc822Name` (email) constraints within `excludedSubtrees` or `permittedSubtrees`. A remote attacker can exploit this by crafting a leaf certificate with casing differences in the Subject Alternative Name (SAN), leading to a policy bypass where a certificate that should be rejected is instead accepted. This could result in unauthorized access or information disclosure. | ||||
| CVE-2026-42010 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 15 Gnutls, Ai Inference Server, Discovery and 12 more | 2026-09-03 | 7.1 High |
| A flaw was found in gnutls. Servers configured with RSA-PSK (Rivest–Shamir–Adleman – Pre-Shared Key) wrongfully matched usernames containing a NUL character with truncated usernames. A remote attacker could exploit this by sending a specially crafted username, leading to an authentication bypass. This vulnerability allows an attacker to gain unauthorized access by circumventing the authentication process. | ||||
| CVE-2026-42009 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 26 Gnutls, Ai Inference Server, Discovery and 23 more | 2026-09-03 | 7.5 High |
| A flaw was found in gnutls. A remote attacker could exploit an issue in the Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) packet reordering logic. The comparator function, responsible for ordering DTLS packets by sequence numbers, did not correctly handle packets with duplicate sequence numbers. This could lead to unstable packet ordering or undefined behavior, resulting in a denial of service. | ||||
| CVE-2026-33846 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 16 Gnutls, Ai Inference Server, Discovery and 13 more | 2026-09-03 | 7.5 High |
| A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the DTLS handshake fragment reassembly logic of GnuTLS. The issue arises in merge_handshake_packet() where incoming handshake fragments are matched and merged based solely on handshake type, without validating that the message_length field remains consistent across all fragments of the same logical message. An attacker can exploit this by sending crafted DTLS fragments with conflicting message_length values, causing the implementation to allocate a buffer based on a smaller initial fragment and subsequently write beyond its bounds using larger, inconsistent fragments. Because the merge operation does not enforce proper bounds checking against the allocated buffer size, this results in an out-of-bounds write on the heap. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable without authentication via the DTLS handshake path and can lead to application crashes or potential memory corruption. | ||||
| CVE-2026-33845 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 16 Gnutls, Ai Inference Server, Discovery and 13 more | 2026-09-03 | 7.5 High |
| A flaw in GnuTLS DTLS handshake parsing allows malformed fragments with zero length and non-zero offset, leading to an integer underflow during reassembly and resulting in an out-of-bounds read. This issue is remotely exploitable and may cause information disclosure or denial of service. | ||||
| CVE-2026-4878 | 2 Libcap Project, Redhat | 18 Libcap, Ai Inference Server, Cost Management and 15 more | 2026-09-03 | 6.7 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libcap. A local unprivileged user can exploit a Time-of-check-to-time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition in the `cap_set_file()` function. This allows an attacker with write access to a parent directory to redirect file capability updates to an attacker-controlled file. By doing so, capabilities can be injected into or stripped from unintended executables, leading to privilege escalation. | ||||
| CVE-2026-72693 | 1 Redhat | 5 Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images, Hummingbird and 2 more | 2026-09-02 | 7.8 High |
| `openvt -u` is intended to identify the owner of the current VT and then execute `login` as that user from a privileged context. In the documented `kbrequest`/init usage, the ownership test in `authenticate_user()` relies on `stat("/proc/<pid>/fd/0")`. `stat()` on `/proc/<pid>/fd/0` follows the symlink to the underlying TTY device node. As a result, `buf.st_uid` reflects the owner of the TTY node rather than the owner of the process holding the file descriptor. If the TTY owner returns to `root` or the getty owner after logout while an unprivileged process still has `fd 0` attached to that TTY, the check can incorrectly treat that process as belonging to the privileged console owner. Once that check succeeds, the `-u` path executes a passwordless login as the selected user. In the documented `kbrequest`/init deployment using `openvt -us`, this can result in passwordless `login -f root` on the spawned VT. This report establishes that privilege escalation path for that documented deployment; it does not claim equivalent reachability for deployments that do not use `openvt -u` from a privileged `kbrequest`/init path. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59850 | 2 Libssh, Redhat | 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more | 2026-09-01 | 4.3 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libssh. If data packets are processed after a channel is closed, channel data callbacks can be invoked after the associated data has already been freed, leading to crashes or possible use-after-free conditions. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59848 | 2 Libssh, Redhat | 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more | 2026-09-01 | 5.3 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libssh. A malicious SFTP server can send responses for unknown request IDs that libssh clients keep queued indefinitely, causing unbounded memory growth and client-side denial of service. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59846 | 2 Libssh, Redhat | 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more | 2026-09-01 | 3.9 Low |
| A flaw was found in libssh. A malicious username expanded through %r in ProxyCommand handling can inject shell metacharacters, exposing environment variables and causing unintended shell behavior. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59845 | 2 Libssh, Redhat | 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more | 2026-09-01 | 5.3 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libssh. When ProxyCommand is used, an unchecked fork() failure can be stored as process ID -1; during cleanup, signals may then be sent across the caller's accessible process tree, leading to local denial of service. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59844 | 2 Libssh, Redhat | 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more | 2026-09-01 | 6.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libssh. A remote authenticated client can issue SSH_FXP_READ requests with an arbitrarily large length, causing a libssh SFTP server to allocate excessive memory and potentially exhaust it through repeated requests. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59843 | 2 Libssh, Redhat | 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more | 2026-09-01 | 6.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libssh. A remote authenticated peer can advertise a zero maximum packet size in SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_OPEN, causing later channel writes to loop indefinitely and consume CPU, leading to denial of service. | ||||
| CVE-2026-82327 | 1 Redhat | 8 Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images, Hummingbird and 5 more | 2026-09-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| A flaw was found in libsolv, a dependency-resolution library used by RPM-based package managers such as dnf and zypper to work with .solv repository cache files. When libsolv rewrites a .solv cache file, it reads directory-id values from the file's compressed filelist data without validating that they fall within the expected range. A corrupted or specially crafted .solv cache file (for example, one left in a torn state after an unclean system shutdown) can cause an out-of-bounds memory write when a tool such as dnf, yum, or zypper next processes it. Successful exploitation is expected to result in a crash of the affected tool (denial of service); it is not expected to allow arbitrary code execution because the out-of-bounds write always stores a fixed, non-attacker-controlled value. | ||||
