CVE-2026-13478 1 Zephyrproject 1 Zephyr 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
The Zephyr ext2 filesystem driver validates the on-disk block bitmap in ext2_init_fs() (subsys/fs/ext2/ext2_impl.c) by passing fs_blocks = s_blocks_count - s_first_data_block to ext2_bitmap_count_set(). That helper (subsys/fs/ext2/ext2_bitmap.c) treats its argument as a number of bits and reads one bitmap byte per eight bits, but the bitmap buffer (BGROUP_BLOCK_BITMAP) is a single fetched block of only fs->block_size bytes (capacity fs->block_size * 8 bits). s_blocks_count and s_first_data_block are taken verbatim from the superblock and were never bounded against this single-group capacity; ext2_verify_disk_superblock() checks the magic, revision, and block-size shift but not the block count. A crafted ext2 image with an oversized s_blocks_count (up to ~4 billion, against a maximum 4096-byte block / 32768-bit bitmap) makes ext2_bitmap_count_set() scan roughly 512 MB of memory past the bitmap block — a large out-of-bounds read of the static block slab and adjacent memory. The defect is reached during mount: ext2_init_fs() is invoked from ext2_mount() (subsys/fs/ext2/ext2_ops.c), the registered .mount operation. Any path that mounts an attacker-supplied ext2 image (removable media, a disk/flash partition, or a downloaded image) triggers it. The kernel-privileged parser operates on attacker-controlled data, so the bug is exploitable wherever untrusted ext2 media can be mounted. Impact is an out-of-bounds read only: the resulting bit count is compared internally and the mount is rejected, so no attacker-controlled bytes are returned (not a useful information leak). The ~512 MB over-read will almost certainly cross an unmapped or MPU-protected boundary and fault, crashing the system — a denial of service triggered by mounting a single malformed image. The fix rejects any image whose fs_blocks exceeds fs->block_size * 8 before the scan.
CVE-2026-59983 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. OpenEXR versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 are vulnerable on ILP32 builds to an out-of-bounds read. The vulnerability is reached when a crafted uncompressed deep-tile EXR causes the sample-count table size calculation in OpenEXRCore decoding.c to wrap before unpack_sample_table() iterates over the full attacker-controlled tile dimensions, allowing denial of service. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.
CVE-2026-59189 2026-08-25 7.1 High
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In OpenEXRUtil versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.12, the documented TypedDeepImageChannel<T>::row() API can return an out-of-bounds pointer when a deep image has a non-zero dataWindow origin, resulting in a heap out-of-bounds read and crash, with potential information disclosure under a controlled heap layout. The flaw arises because ImfDeepImageChannel uses two conflicting coordinate models: at(x, y) uses absolute coordinates (with _base offset by dataWindow.min), while row(r) is documented as 0-based logical access. For a non-zero dataWindow.min, row(0) therefore points outside the _sampleListPointers allocation instead of at the first logical row. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.13 and 3.4.13.
CVE-2026-59183 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.1.0 through 3.2.10, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, an int32_t multiplication in OpenEXRCore's unpack_sample_table() can overflow while decoding a crafted deep tiled EXR file, producing an invalid pointer that leads to a read from an unmapped memory address and a crash. Because the overflow occurs in the standard decoding path (exr_decoding_run), any application that decodes deep tiled EXR files is affected. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.
CVE-2026-16828 1 Ibm 19 Power System E1080 \(9080-hex\), Power System E1080 \(9080-hex\) Firmware, Power System E1180 \(9080-heu\) and 16 more 2026-08-25 7.6 High
IBM Power Systems Firmware FW1120.00, FW1110.00 through FW1110.30, FW1060.00 through FW1060.80, and FW950.00 through FW950.H2 is affected by a vulnerability in the ASMI web interface. An unauthenticated attacker on the management network can cause the ASMI web server to crash with possible memory corruption and generate an error log; hosted partitions are not affected. The ASMI web interface will restart automatically; however, repeated exploitation could result in a sustained loss of access to the ASMI management interface, resulting in an integrity and availability impact.
CVE-2023-6610 2 Linux, Redhat 5 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Logging and 2 more 2026-08-25 7.1 High
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in smb2_dump_detail in fs/smb/client/smb2ops.c in the Linux Kernel. This issue could allow a local attacker to crash the system or leak internal kernel information.
CVE-2026-77237 2 Amazon, Freertos 2 Freertos, Freertos-kernel 2026-08-25 6.5 Medium
Missing queue-set type validation in xQueueAddToSet() in the FreeRTOS-Kernel before 11.3.1 might allow an unprivileged task on MPU-enabled ports with configUSE_QUEUE_SETS=1 to read privileged kernel memory. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 11.3.1 or later.
CVE-2026-74693 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: prestera: validate firmware header length prestera_fw_hdr_parse() reads the firmware header before checking that the firmware image contains that header. Reject images shorter than struct prestera_fw_header before decoding the magic and version fields.
CVE-2026-73583 1 Redhat 1 Enterprise Linux 2026-08-25 6.6 Medium
A flaw was found in sblim-sfcb. A local attacker with access to the system can exploit an unsafe deserialization vulnerability in the provider-manager's inter-process communication (IPC) message parsing. By sending a specially crafted message, the attacker can cause out-of-bounds memory access, leading to the termination of the provider-manager process and a denial of service. This could also potentially result in limited unintended information disclosure.
CVE-2026-74710 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: require at least 16 bytes of TX metadata AF_XDP accepts a TX metadata length as small as eight bytes, but every supported request needs the flags plus at least one eight-byte request field. Such short metadata also lets the kernel read beyond the registered area. Require 16 bytes rather than sizeof(struct xsk_tx_metadata) to preserve compatibility with applications that do not use launch-time metadata.
CVE-2026-74694 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ncsi: fix heap OOB read in NCSI_CMD_SEND_CMD payload length ncsi_send_cmd_nl() takes the number of bytes to copy from the attacker-controlled ncsi_pkt_hdr.length field of the in-band packet header, while the source buffer is the NCSI_ATTR_DATA netlink attribute whose readable size is nla_len() - sizeof(ncsi_pkt_hdr). The two length sources are never cross-checked: only nla_len() >= sizeof(struct ncsi_pkt_hdr) is enforced. With hdr->length set larger than the attribute payload (up to 65535 against at most 2032 readable bytes), ncsi_cmd_handler_oem() copies past the end of the netlink attribute buffer with unsafe_memcpy(), leaking up to ~64KB of kernel heap memory into the transmitted NCSI command packet. The destination skb is sized by the declared payload, so the write side does not overflow - this is a pure OOB read / information leak, reachable with CAP_NET_ADMIN on systems with a registered NCSI device (e.g. OpenBMC on Aspeed BMC SoCs, where NET_NCSI=y is standard). Reject commands whose declared payload extends past the end of the data attribute. The issue was found by the autokbug dynamic kernel fuzzer at Tencent Yunding Lab.
CVE-2026-17007 1 Ibm 3 Aix, Powervm Vios, Vios 2026-08-25 6.7 Medium
IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a local attacker to obtain sensitive information or cause a denial of service due to an out-of-bounds read.
CVE-2026-18716 1 Ibm 3 Aix, Powervm Vios, Vios 2026-08-25 7.9 High
IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information or cause a denial of service due to an out-of-bounds read.
CVE-2026-17423 1 Ibm 3 Aix, Powervm Vios, Vios 2026-08-25 7.7 High
IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information and cause a denial of service due to an out-of-bounds read.
CVE-2026-17042 1 Ibm 21 Power Hardware Management Console \(7063-cr2\), Power Hardware Management Console \(7063-cr2\) Firmware, Power System Ac922 \(8335-gth\) and 18 more 2026-08-25 7.3 High
IBM Power Systems Firmware FW950.00 through FW950.H2, OP940.00 through OP940.a1 (Power9), and OP940.00 - OP940.81 (Power HMC) is affected by a vulnerability in host firmware NVRAM parsing. An attacker with root access to a guest partition on an OpenPOWER system can write a specially crafted NVRAM image, causing the host firmware boot stage to crash with possible memory corruption. This condition persists until operator intervention — clearing NVRAM via the service processor — to restore normal operation. This vulnerability only affects OpenPOWER systems; systems running PowerVM are not affected. Successful exploitation results in an integrity and availability impact to the managed system.
CVE-2026-74665 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 9.1 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix skb length accounting after generic XDP frag adjustment Generic XDP exposes non-linear skb fragments through an xdp_buff. If an XDP program adjusts the fragment area, bpf_prog_run_generic_xdp() copies xdp_frags_size back to skb->data_len but leaves skb->len containing the old fragment contribution. After a fragment shrink, this makes skb_headlen() larger than the actual linear area. In the reproduced UDP receive path, __skb_datagram_iter() copied 1024 bytes past the actual linear tail to userspace, starting at struct skb_shared_info. The copied bytes included the affected skb's nr_frags, xdp_frags_size and a kernel pointer from skb_shinfo(skb)->frags[0]. Real packet data was displaced by the same amount and truncated at the end. Subtract the old data_len before replacing it and add the new data_len afterwards, keeping skb->len and skb->data_len synchronized. A 60000-byte UDP datagram on a veth pair with MTU 64000 was shortened by 1024 bytes from its fragment area. Before the fix, all 10 runs produced corrupted payloads. After the fix, all 10 runs matched the expected payload exactly.
CVE-2026-74701 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/openvswitch: check Ethernet header length in key_extract() When a packet arrives on an ARPHRD_NONE device (e.g. TUN), ovs_flow_key_extract() trusts the user-provided skb->protocol field: if it is ETH_P_TEB, the packet is classified as MAC_PROTO_ETHERNET and key_extract() is called without ensuring the skb has ETH_HLEN (14) bytes of linear data. key_extract() unconditionally pulls 2 * ETH_ALEN bytes for MAC addresses and parse_ethertype() pulls 2 more, either of which triggers a kernel BUG in __skb_pull() when the linear area is too small. kernel BUG at include/linux/skbuff.h:2848! RIP: 0010:key_extract+0xa7e/0xd90 net/openvswitch/flow.c:933 ovs_flow_key_extract+0x419/0xa70 ovs_vport_receive+0x222/0x390 netdev_frame_hook+0x3e0/0x630 tun_get_user+0x2d0c/0x38e0 Fixed by calling check_header() in key_extract() before accessing the Ethernet header.
CVE-2026-74612 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 10 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: veth: fix skb length accounting after XDP frag adjustment veth exposes non-linear skb fragments through an xdp_buff. If an XDP program adjusts the fragment area, veth_xdp_rcv_skb() copies xdp_frags_size back to skb->data_len but leaves skb->len containing the old fragment contribution. After a fragment shrink, this makes skb_headlen() larger than the actual linear area. In the reproduced UDP receive path, __skb_datagram_iter() copied 1024 bytes past the actual linear tail to userspace, starting at struct skb_shared_info. The copied bytes included the affected skb's nr_frags, xdp_frags_size, and a kernel pointer from skb_shinfo(skb)->frags[0]. Real packet data was displaced by the same amount and truncated at the end. Subtract the old data_len before replacing it and add the new data_len afterwards, keeping skb->len and skb->data_len synchronized. Additionally, bpf_xdp_pull_data() can advance data_end while leaving frags present. The skb is then still non-linear, so the old __skb_put(skb, off) triggers SKB_LINEAR_ASSERT(). Use skb_set_tail_pointer() and update skb->len explicitly instead, following bpf_prog_run_generic_xdp(). Unlike __skb_put(), skb_set_tail_pointer() does not require a linear skb. A 60000-byte UDP datagram on a veth pair with MTU 64000 was shortened by 1024 bytes from its fragment area. Before the fix, all 10 runs produced corrupted payloads. After the fix, all 10 runs matched the expected payload exactly. A forced-tailroom reproducer also exercises bpf_xdp_pull_data() with frags still present; the old code triggers SKB_LINEAR_ASSERT(), while this fix passes 10/10 runs.
CVE-2026-55654 3 Openbsd, Openssh, Redhat 8 Openssh, Openssh, Enterprise Linux and 5 more 2026-08-25 3.7 Low
A flaw was found in OpenSSH. This vulnerability, a heap out-of-bounds read, occurs during the cleanup of GSSAPI (Generic Security Service Application Programming Interface) indicators when a trailing NULL termination is missing in the auth-indicators array. A remote attacker, under specific configurations involving GSSAPI authentication and a Kerberos environment, could exploit this to cause the SSH authentication path to crash or abort. This leads to a denial of service (DoS), impacting the availability of the SSH service.
CVE-2026-74723 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: lzo: reject inline extents without valid headers [BUG] For a crafted btrfs image, the following KASAN can be triggered when reading an inline lzo compressed file extent: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in lzo_decompress+0x57d/0x700 Read of size 4 at addr ffff888006f2e644 by task btrfs_lzo_inlin/77 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x5b/0x70 print_report+0xd1/0x610 kasan_report+0xe0/0x110 __asan_report_load_n_noabort+0x13/0x20 lzo_decompress+0x57d/0x700 btrfs_decompress+0x140/0x1c0 uncompress_inline+0x147/0x1b0 btrfs_get_extent+0xb23/0x10a0 btrfs_do_readpage.constprop.0+0x538/0x1ac0 btrfs_readahead+0x32f/0x5f0 read_pages+0x16f/0x850 page_cache_ra_unbounded+0x296/0x490 do_page_cache_ra+0xd9/0x130 page_cache_sync_ra+0x3ee/0x6f0 filemap_get_pages+0x306/0x15c0 filemap_read+0x329/0xd00 btrfs_file_read_iter+0x1f8/0x2b0 vfs_read+0x4ef/0x720 ksys_read+0xf8/0x1d0 __x64_sys_read+0x71/0xb0 x64_sys_call+0x1ab0/0x1b70 do_syscall_64+0x61/0x470 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x4b/0x53 </TASK> [CAUSE] For an inline lzo compressed file extent, there should always be one lzo header, recording the total length of the compressed data, followed by one segment header, recording the compressed lzo payload. But if a crafted inline lzo compressed file extent contains only an lzo header, without the segment header or payload, lzo_decompress() will still try to read the segment header, causing a read beyond the item boundary. Furthermore if the inline lzo compressed file extent is the first item of the leaf, it will be at the extent buffer boundary. The above out-of-boundary read will go beyond the extent buffer boundary, triggering the above KASAN report. [FIX] Validate the total length of the inlined lzo compressed file extent, to make sure there is at least one LZO header and one segment header, and a non-zero payload.
