| CVE-2026-55193 | 1 Freerdp | 1 Freerdp | 2026-08-27 | 8.8 High |
| FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. Prior to 3.27.0, FreeRDP clients using TS Gateway accept a server-controlled max_xmit_frag value in libfreerdp/core/gateway/rpc_bind.c without bounding it to the 4088-byte ReceiveFragment allocation. A malicious gateway can advertise 65535 and then send a response fragment of the same length, causing rpc_channel_read in libfreerdp/core/gateway/rpc.c to write up to 65535 bytes into the smaller ReceiveFragment buffer. This can crash the client and may permit code execution through attacker-controlled heap corruption. This issue is fixed in version 3.27.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-18307 | 1 Gimp | 1 Gimp | 2026-08-27 | 7.8 High |
| GIMP TIF File Parsing Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GIMP. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the parsing of TIF files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-29404. | ||||

| CVE-2026-77652 | 1 Gnome | 1 Dia | 2026-08-27 | 7.8 High |
| A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the Dia diagram editor WPG file format importer. In plug-ins/wpg/wpg-import.c, the WPG import renderer allocates a fixed palette with: ren->pPal = g_new0(WPGColorRGB, 256); When handling a WPG_COLORMAP record, the parser reads a start index (i16) and number of colors (iNum16) from the file and reads palette data with: bRet &= (iNum16 == (int)fread(&ren->pPal[i16], sizeof(WPGColorRGB), iNum16, f)); The only bounds-related check is `if (i16 >= 0 && i16 <= iSize)`, where iSize is the WPG record size—not the palette capacity. There is no validation that i16 is less than 256 or that i16 + iNum16 does not exceed 256. A malicious WPG file can supply i16=256 and iNum16=264. That causes fread() to write 792 bytes starting at &pPal[256], while the palette buffer is only 768 bytes (256 entries × 3 bytes). This overflows into adjacent heap metadata and can crash Dia (SIGABRT / malloc corruption errors) or, depending on heap layout and exploit primitives, potentially lead to arbitrary code execution. Exploitation requires convincing a user to open a crafted WPG file via Dia's file dialog, command line, or file association. No special privileges are required to deliver the file to the victim. Affected component: WPG parser (plug-ins/wpg/wpg-import.c). Affected versions: all Dia versions containing this code path (reporter tested Dia 0.98+git20260221-1; issue present on upstream master as of 2026-08-21). | ||||

| CVE-2026-80522 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-27 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: tegra - fix rctx->cryptlen calculation in tegra_gcm_do_one_req() Perform rctx->cryptlen calculation in tegra_gcm_do_one_req() the same way it is done in tegra_ccm_crypt_init(). The current formulae may lead to a crash if a caller does not call tegra_gcm_setauthsize() and so ctx->authsize remains zero. Then a decrypt operation with incorrect rctx->cryptlen will lead to a write beyound rctx->dst_sg buffer. As a follow-up cleanup delete struct tegra_aead_ctx->authsize field since it appears to be completely unused. Also simplify tegra_ccm_setauthsize() and tegra_gcm_setauthsize() functions respectively. | ||||
| CVE-2026-80576 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-27 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: reject oversized IBs with per-ring packet limits On GFX rings, amdgpu_cs_p2_ib() passed user-supplied ib_bytes through to ib->length_dw without a limit, while ring_emit_ib() encodes length into packet fields. Oversized values can corrupt adjacent control bits and destabilize command submission. Add a per-ring IB packet size limit helper and reject command submissions exceeding the corresponding dword limit before IB allocation. Use the documented 20-bit limit for GFX/compute/SDMA/VPE, and apply the MM fallback limit for other ring types. (cherry picked from commit 7f48fa2cf62e3fa6c9c3870aa74988f773247e52) | ||||
| CVE-2026-79216 | 1 Google | 1 Chrome | 2026-08-27 | 7.5 High |

| CVE-2026-18271 | 1 Kenwood | 1 Dnr1007xr | 2026-08-26 | N/A |
| Kenwood DNR1007XR vCardParser Heap-based Buffer Overflow Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows physically present attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Kenwood DNR1007XR devices. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the vCardParser class. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of root. Was ZDI-CAN-28974. | ||||
| CVE-2026-78948 | 1 Google | 1 Chrome | 2026-08-26 | 9.6 Critical |

| CVE-2026-68515 | 2026-08-26 | 7.1 High | ||
| OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, exrmultiview can write past a heap allocation when it combines two attacker-supplied, individually valid scanline EXR files whose union dataWindow is not aligned to one view's channel subsampling. The utility allocates sampled channel storage using a truncated union_width / xSampling, then reads the sampled input through a Slice based on the misaligned union window, producing a heap out-of-bounds write. The trigger is normal public-tool processing, such as exrmultiview left A.exr right B.exr out.exr with crafted but valid inputs, so this is not solely an API or caller-precondition issue. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14. | ||||
| CVE-2026-56392 | 1 Gnu | 1 Coreutils | 2026-08-26 | 6.1 Medium |
| GNU coreutils unexpand is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow due to an integer overflow during buffer allocation when processing large tab stop (-t) values. The multiplication used to calculate the allocation size can wrap around, resulting in an undersized buffer. When processing crafted input, subsequent writes exceed the allocated memory, leading to an out‑of‑bounds heap write. When running GNU coreutils unexpand with attacker-provided large tab stop (-t) arguments, this behavior leads to a crash and potentially achieve a heap write primitive depending on memory layout. This issue has been fixed in the commit b60a159fdc5bfcf9988d3a4cb6f53abe8ad5d35d | ||||
| CVE-2026-68514 | 2026-08-26 | 5.5 Medium | ||
| OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image file format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, the PyOpenEXR Python bindings contain a heap out-of-bounds write triggered when reading a crafted deep scanline EXR file. When a deep file declares a literal channel named left alongside layer-prefixed RGB channels left.R, left.G, and left.B, the wrapper processes the literal left channel first and allocates a scalar deep sample array for it, then reuses that same array as the coalesced destination for the prefixed RGB group. The deep reader registers sample slices with an RGB stride (three lanes) into storage that was allocated with scalar shape, so decoding the deep samples writes past the allocation. Opening such a file through the default public Python API, OpenEXR.File(path), causes a heap buffer overflow during normal deep sample decode, leading to memory corruption and a crash. This issue is fixed in versions 3.3.13 and 3.4.14. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59186 | 1 Academysoftwarefoundation | 1 Openexr | 2026-08-25 | 7.1 High |
| OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. In versions before 3.2.11, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13, a crafted tiled EXR can trigger a heap out-of-bounds write on 32-bit/ILP32 builds when read through the public TiledRgbaInputFile RGBA API. The file uses a small 40x40 dataWindow but a 65537x65537 tile size. On ILP32, the Array2D<Rgba> tile-conversion buffer size calculation overflows, allocates a much smaller heap buffer, and tile decode writes past that allocation. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14. | ||||
| CVE-2026-59187 | 2026-08-25 | 7.1 High | ||
| OpenEXR is the reference implementation and specification for the EXR image format, widely used in the motion picture industry. OpenEXR versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.12 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13 are vulnerable to a heap out-of-bounds write when exrmetrics reads a crafted deep scanline EXR. This occurs with pixel conversion options such as --pixelmode float or --bench because DeepSlice requests FLOAT output while the backing sample buffers are allocated using the input HALF element size. The issue is fixed in versions 3.3.13 and 3.4.14. | ||||
| CVE-2026-76022 | 1 Google | 1 Chrome | 2026-08-25 | 8.8 High |
| Buffer overflow in Network in Google Chrome prior to 151.0.7922.173 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) | ||||
| CVE-2026-9256 | 3 Debian, F5, Redhat | 12 Debian Linux, Dos, Nginx Gateway Fabric and 9 more | 2026-08-25 | 8.1 High |
| NGINX Plus and NGINX Open Source have a vulnerability in the ngx_http_rewrite_module module. This vulnerability exists when a rewrite directive uses a regex pattern with distinct, overlapping Perl-Compatible Regular Expression (PCRE) captures (for example, ^/((.*))$) and a replacement string that references multiple such captures (for example, $1$2) in a redirect or arguments context. An unauthenticated attacker along with conditions beyond their control can exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted HTTP requests. This may cause a heap buffer overflow in the NGINX worker process leading to a restart. Additionally, attackers can execute code on systems with Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) disabled or when the attacker can bypass ASLR. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. | ||||
