| CVE-2017-10685 | 1 Gnu | 1 Ncurses | 2025-04-20 | 0.0 Low |
| In ncurses 6.0, there is a format string vulnerability in the fmt_entry function. A crafted input will lead to a remote arbitrary code execution attack. | ||||
| CVE-2017-13090 | 3 Debian, Gnu, Redhat | 3 Debian Linux, Wget, Enterprise Linux | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| The retr.c:fd_read_body() function is called when processing OK responses. When the response is sent chunked in wget before 1.19.2, the chunk parser uses strtol() to read each chunk's length, but doesn't check that the chunk length is a non-negative number. The code then tries to read the chunk in pieces of 8192 bytes by using the MIN() macro, but ends up passing the negative chunk length to retr.c:fd_read(). As fd_read() takes an int argument, the high 32 bits of the chunk length are discarded, leaving fd_read() with a completely attacker controlled length argument. The attacker can corrupt malloc metadata after the allocated buffer. | ||||
| CVE-2017-13729 | 1 Gnu | 1 Ncurses | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| There is an illegal address access in the _nc_save_str function in alloc_entry.c in ncurses 6.0. It will lead to a remote denial of service attack. | ||||

| Two errors in the "asn1_find_node()" function (lib/parser_aux.c) within GnuTLS libtasn1 version 4.10 can be exploited to cause a stacked-based buffer overflow by tricking a user into processing a specially crafted assignments file via the e.g. asn1Coding utility. | ||||
| CVE-2017-16826 | 1 Gnu | 1 Binutils | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| The coff_slurp_line_table function in coffcode.h in the Binary File Descriptor (BFD) library (aka libbfd), as distributed in GNU Binutils 2.29.1, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (invalid memory access and application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted PE file. | ||||
| CVE-2017-16829 | 1 Gnu | 1 Binutils | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
| The _bfd_elf_parse_gnu_properties function in elf-properties.c in the Binary File Descriptor (BFD) library (aka libbfd), as distributed in GNU Binutils 2.29.1, does not prevent negative pointers, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted ELF file. | ||||
| CVE-2018-1000156 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Gnu and 1 more | 14 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Patch and 11 more | 2025-04-14 | N/A |
| GNU Patch version 2.7.6 contains an input validation vulnerability when processing patch files, specifically the EDITOR_PROGRAM invocation (using ed) can result in code execution. This attack appear to be exploitable via a patch file processed via the patch utility. This is similar to FreeBSD's CVE-2015-1418 however although they share a common ancestry the code bases have diverged over time. | ||||
| CVE-2015-1196 | 3 Gnu, Opensuse, Oracle | 3 Patch, Opensuse, Solaris | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| GNU patch 2.7.1 allows remote attackers to write to arbitrary files via a symlink attack in a patch file. | ||||
| CVE-2014-8485 | 4 Canonical, Fedoraproject, Gnu and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Fedora, Binutils and 1 more | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| The setup_group function in bfd/elf.c in libbfd in GNU binutils 2.24 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via crafted section group headers in an ELF file. | ||||
| CVE-2015-5277 | 3 Canonical, Gnu, Redhat | 8 Ubuntu Linux, Glibc, Enterprise Linux and 5 more | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| The get_contents function in nss_files/files-XXX.c in the Name Service Switch (NSS) in GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) before 2.20 might allow local users to cause a denial of service (heap corruption) or gain privileges via a long line in the NSS files database. | ||||
| CVE-2014-3467 | 5 Debian, F5, Gnu and 2 more | 17 Debian Linux, Arx, Arx Firmware and 14 more | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| Multiple unspecified vulnerabilities in the DER decoder in GNU Libtasn1 before 3.6, as used in GnuTLS, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via crafted ASN.1 data. | ||||
| CVE-2014-8121 | 4 Canonical, Gnu, Redhat and 1 more | 5 Ubuntu Linux, Glibc, Enterprise Linux and 2 more | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| DB_LOOKUP in nss_files/files-XXX.c in the Name Service Switch (NSS) in GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) 2.21 and earlier does not properly check if a file is open, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) by performing a look-up on a database while iterating over it, which triggers the file pointer to be reset. | ||||
| CVE-2011-2702 | 1 Gnu | 2 Eglibc, Glibc | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| Integer signedness error in Glibc before 2.13 and eglibc before 2.13, when using Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 (SSSE3) optimization, allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via a negative length parameter to (1) memcpy-ssse3-rep.S, (2) memcpy-ssse3.S, or (3) memset-sse2.S in sysdeps/i386/i686/multiarch/, which triggers an out-of-bounds read, as demonstrated using the memcpy function. | ||||
| CVE-2016-3706 | 2 Gnu, Opensuse | 2 Glibc, Opensuse | 2025-04-12 | 7.5 High |
| Stack-based buffer overflow in the getaddrinfo function in sysdeps/posix/getaddrinfo.c in the GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via vectors involving hostent conversion. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2013-4458. | ||||
| CVE-2016-2856 | 3 Canonical, Debian, Gnu | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Glibc | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| pt_chown in the glibc package before 2.19-18+deb8u4 on Debian jessie; the elibc package before 2.15-0ubuntu10.14 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and before 2.19-0ubuntu6.8 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS; and the glibc package before 2.21-0ubuntu4.2 on Ubuntu 15.10 and before 2.23-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and 16.10 lacks a namespace check associated with file-descriptor passing, which allows local users to capture keystrokes and spoof data, and possibly gain privileges, via pts read and write operations, related to debian/sysdeps/linux.mk. NOTE: this is not considered a vulnerability in the upstream GNU C Library because the upstream documentation has a clear security recommendation against the --enable-pt_chown option. | ||||
| CVE-2015-5276 | 1 Gnu | 1 Gcc | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| The std::random_device class in libstdc++ in the GNU Compiler Collection (aka GCC) before 4.9.4 does not properly handle short reads from blocking sources, which makes it easier for context-dependent attackers to predict the random values via unspecified vectors. | ||||
| CVE-2014-6040 | 2 Gnu, Redhat | 2 Glibc, Enterprise Linux | 2025-04-12 | N/A |
| GNU C Library (aka glibc) before 2.20 allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and crash) via a multibyte character value of "0xffff" to the iconv function when converting (1) IBM933, (2) IBM935, (3) IBM937, (4) IBM939, or (5) IBM1364 encoded data to UTF-8. | ||||
